Vehicle-integrated AAAAAAAphotovoltaics (VIPV) is a promising technology to increase electric car autonomy. Curved PV surfaces are typically required to fit vehicle geometry. However, conventional solar simulators do not allow for a proper characterization of three dimensional PV surfaces because of irradiance inhomogeneities (2-20% depending on the actual shape).
